IPL 2023 Day 30

KKR v GT & DC v SRH

Hello and welcome to today’s newsletter.

What a riot it was last night, LSG batsmen came out with a mission and posted highest score of this IPL season and 2nd highest in IPL history.

Total 458 runs scored in the match, and make it the highest scoring IPL match ever.

Last Matches Summary

Match 38 - Punjab Kings vs Lucknow Super Giants

I feel bad for Punjab bowlers. They were hammered right from the beginning, LSG batsmen were in a different mood. Mayers, Badoni, Pooran, Stoinis everyone looked like they have been starving for runs, and posted a monstrous score of 257.

In return, although Punjab did score 201 but they were never in this game, they played to improve NRR and they did well by scoring 200+.

Brief Score: Lucknow Super Giants 257/5 (Stoinis 72, Mayers 54; Rabada 2/52) beat Punjab Kings 201/10 (Atharve 66, Sikandar 36; Yash Thakur 4/37) by 56 runs

Player of the Match: Marcus Stoinis

Today’s Match Preview

Match 39 - Kolkata Knight Riders vs Gujarat Titans

GT are in red hot form, winning their last 2 matches and overall 2nd in the points table.

KKR should be happy that Roy and Rana are in good form, and Rinku hitting well too.

Match 40 - Delhi Capitals vs Sunrisers Hyderabad

Both teams have been struggling so far and are sitting at the bottom of the points table, so it’s race to get out of the bottom.

DC are coming from back-to-back wins so morale should be high, while SRH are coming from 3 consecutive losses.

A fun fact

The first-ever cricket match to be broadcast on television was between England and West Indies at Lord's in 1938.
